About Kay Whitcomb
Loves to make a meaningful contribution
With a considerable amount of experience both in Australia and overseas, Kay has worked in the children’s services industry with young children from a wide range of age groups, from six weeks through to school age. The different contexts in which Kay has worked includes private and company-based children’s services, before and after school care and working as a nanny both in Australia and the UK.
Her extensive work history started as an assistant, then room leader, to service Director. Additionally, she has worked as an area manager for a multi-site provider with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of ten services under her leadership. Her duties in this role involved working with staff, other area managers, directors of the various services and parents.
As a service director, Kay has been responsible with dealing with staffing issues, rosters and timesheets, collecting of fees from parents, staff meetings and oversight of compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Kay moved into the training and assessment field a couple of years ago, and loves the work for the opportunities it provides for her to contribute to the developmental outcomes of the children, who are in the care of the students she trains.
Kay holds an Associate Diploma in Children’s Services, an Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
In the little spare time Kay has, she enjoys supporting her beloved Brisbane Broncos and loves to watch sport of almost any form. Kay is an avid traveller, and also enjoys movies and music.
